Scraping, Scraping, Scraping

We're doing so much scraping these days, when I close my eyes at night all I can see is tons of siding that needs to be scraped. But, I realized my pictures of late haven't quite given you all an adequate image of just what the garage is like. So, this might help a bit:

This is what most of the garage is like; and lots of the house too! We certainly have our work cut out for us...

Why is the city forcing you to paint the garage by a certain time? that seems a bit unfair. are you going to make the deadline? They don't work weekends, I bet, so you probably have till Monday...have you tried a really strong jet of water from the hose to take off the loose paint?

We have "conditions that are violations of Minneapolis Code of Ordinances." Further, "Keeping up our properties sends a signal that we care about our neighborhoods and about each other. We believe that caring about our neighborhoods helps us resist crime."

Blah, blah, blah. The ironic thing is, a house that looks this crappy isn't likely to get broken into or graffitti-ed. It's a nice clean painted wall they'll want to graffitti! Or a nice looking home they'll want to burgal! (Well, I suppose after awhile even really crappy homes are vandalized.) But, it all seems to be about crime.

No water jets for us. That would get water into the garage because it's built so poorly. We've had to dig the dirt away from the bottom siding boards on two sides.
Anyway, I think we can get an extension easily. Any of our neighbors can tell them, we care about them and our neighborhood. =)
