This would be nice...

...for Jeremy mostly...

Madsen Cycles Cargo Bikes

I don't think I could pull more weight than me and my bike. =) But, now that farmer's market season has started again, we're trying to figure out how to get a ton of stuff home on our bikes. Jeremy's bike actually. I don't have a basket or paniers or anything! When we lived with the family they lent us their Burley and that fits a lot of things. Then a neighbor lent a little cart he'd made. We haven't had a chance to use it yet and now it's buried in the garage somewhere.

But after yesterday, when Jeremy's bumpy bike-ride return from the market caused three bunches of scallions to fall out of his paniers, lost on the bike trail, we'll be looking into better vegetable-transport options.

Like, perhaps, a new MADSEN Cargo Bike!

friends of mine have a bike trailer which fastens on their ordinary bikes, that way you don't have to take it when you don't need it! =)

However as they now live most of the way up an exceptionally steep hill I don't think it gets as much use as it did...

Anna, that's a good point. We both have bikes now, so I suppose this would only be used when we knew we were transporting stuff. Or if we're going on a long trip, Jeremy can carry me in the bucket. =)

Tam - yep, I found out from your blog! Thanks. =)

And Paul (who deleted his comment for some reason...) I have a friend or two who have that kind of bike. I wonder how you get two kids on that! Wow.

Anyway, honestly, the whole reason for posting this is for a chance to win one of these bikes. I don't know that we'd ever think it necessary enough to dish out the money to buy one. We'd probably save for an electric car before we did that! =)

Sorry, I realized after the fact that you had put up your post for the Madsen contest - seemed a bit gauche to promote a competitor's product in the comments...

No problem Paul! =) If the competitor is cheaper, then I think you should go for it (though I didn't look at the prices).
